Sadly, I have no idea how to do it either. I usually take into consideration the amount of time it took and the cost of supplies. That's all the help I can give. Sorry!

OK that's a start, but how do you decide how much your time costs?

That's always my biggest problem. I think sometimes it depends on how much time it took. Like a drawing that took 8 hours should cost more than a painting that took 2. But I have no idea how to base the time.
I can ask my friend, his mom is a painter, and see how she does it. I'll let you know!

So she bases her stuff on how long it took and how much she thinks it's worth. The thing is, she said, you have to be confident in your piece. Ask yourself: "Would you pay $200 for this?" etc. She said that pricing is the hardest part for her and maybe she is not the best person to ask. My only suggestion is price a little bit higher and let people bargain with you. For starters, price each piece on how much it cost to make (supplies) You can't go below that price or you are losing money. If you really like a piece, I say price it higher than one you don't like as much.
Now I'm rambling. Maybe you can go to an art studio and ask one of the artists there how they do it?

Sorry! I hope this helps!

Love,
Al

Thanks AL! I think I'll price a bit higher to begin with, but if it's not selling well, I will go a bit lower for the second part of the day. :) Thank you for all your help, I'll let you know how it goes!
